Rule changes regards class engine capacity allowed David to take the same small frame Vespa and compete in the Group 4 upto 210cc standards class. This, the largest participating class, predominately Lambretta powered and all with far greater bhp did not deter him. Riding the pants of his ported, standard barrelled SS90, along with it's superior handling, gained him second overall in the 2002 Class Championship beating many a tuned Lambretta on the way !
